Tim Cook tops 'best boss' list
01 April 2012
Apple CEO is the most highly rated boss, according to new poll
According to the results of a new survey, the best boss in the world is Apple CEO Tim Cook – despite him being in the role for less than a year.
The list of the Top 25 Highest Rated CEOs was compiled by the careers website Glassdoor and Tim rides high with a 97% approval rating from his own staff. That compares to Steve Jobs' rating of 95% when he was the Apple boss.
Technology companies fare well in the list with chip manufacturer Qualcomm in third, Google's Larry Page in fifth place and the CEO of Intel at number six.Despite only six months in the job, HP's Meg Whitman is also deserving of a mention.Whilst her 80% approval rating is only good for 24th in the list, compared to her predecessor Leo Apotheker's 67%, she seems to be proving popular with HP staff.
The list was put together after Glassdoor asked employees one single question: 'Do you approve of the way your CEO is leading the company?' The results are compiled from CEO's receiving in excess of 100 ratings from their own employees, with a total response rate in excess of 280,000.
